The first section of the Danube Cycle Path Passau-Vienna leads from the city of three rivers through the Upper Austrian Danube Valley to Grein. There is a daily bus from Vienna-Linz-Schärding-Passau from 26th April to 25th September 2025 at approx. 8 a.m. with the possibility of taking bicycles and luggage. Reserve your seat at austria-radreisen.at
or book a train with ÖBB at www.oebb.at. Please note that bicycle transport is subject to reservation and only possible to a limited extent.

Unfortunately, there is no possibility for a return journey by boat.
You are generally on the safe side if you book your accommodation before you start your journey. The summer months in particular are peak season in the Danube region.
