The fantastically hilly landscape and tours with varying degrees of difficulty make the granite country from the Danube to the Bohemian Forest a paradise for mountain bikers.

Of course, the encounters with the rock may not be missing! Whether nature trails, scenic features, rock formations or even people who work with the rock.

In the Mühlviertler Granitland there are now two brand new mountain bike tours – from leisurely to very sporty, everything is included.

Mountain biking in the granite country

Maximum variety is promised by mountain biking in Granitland from the Danube to the Mühlviertel highlands and further on into the Bohemian Forest. On 17 signposted trails of all levels of difficulty, the crisp ups and downs add up to 950 kilometers and 27,000 meters of altitude. Granitland is one of the centers of mountain biking in Austria and guarantees carefree MTB fun in a picturesque landscape with bookable packages including luggage transfer.

NEW since 2023: Sporty ones book the Grande Granit Tour with 260 kilometers and 6,900 vertical meters in five daily stages. For those who prefer a more leisurely approach, there is the Granite Beer Tour, which covers 160 kilometers and 4,000 meters of altitude in three daily stages.

Hornet Trail Pfenningberg in Steyregg

The Hornet Trail is the first mountain bike single trail in the Linz Central Region with a distance of 1.2 km. The MTB trail has about 200 meters of depth and offers experienced mountain bikers claim and a lot of fun.

The course is rated with a difficulty level "red" or S1-S2 according to the singletrack scale and is designed to be winding. Even though the Hornissen trail requires a certain trail experience and riding technique, it also provides great riding pleasure for trail beginners.

Ferries and bridges connect both riverbanks and complete the comprehensive network of cycle paths in the Danube region in Upper Austria.

Tip: Use e-bike rental points directly in the region. Some accommodations also lend e-bikes to their guests.
