Welcome to the Gasthof Schauer!

The family-run business is situated in a central yet quiet location on the market square of Waldhausen. The inn is a lovingly renovated, 500-year-old four-sided farm with beautiful vaults and a magnificent wooden ceiling from 1674 in the guest room.

Our house has a barrier-free, beautiful hall for weddings, family celebrations and coach parties. An idyllic spot is the beautiful inner courtyard with approx. 70 seats, lots of greenery and colourful flowers.

One of the 5 double rooms as well as our suite are barrier-free accessible, wheelchair accessible and can also be booked as 3-bed rooms.

We are a real family business. Willi and Ingrid Schauer are the senior hosts.

Willi is responsible for the house, the farm and the regulars' table. He enjoys being in nature and the forest and is also jointly responsible for marking the wonderful hiking trails in Waldhausen.

Ingrid is the landlady with all her heart and every year she lovingly takes care of the beautiful flowers around the house and the farm.

The young hosts, brother and sister Christoph Schauer and Magdalena Buchinger (formerly Schauer) are also employed in their parents' business.

Christoph, the boss, works in service and in the kitchen. He is responsible for our wine and beer selection, but above all for our homemade cider and our homemade naturally cloudy apple and pear juice. He not only looks after our guests, but also the in-house orchard and forest.

Magdalena is also an all-rounder, working in service and kitchen and is responsible for decoration, marketing, homepage and much more.

We are also supported by our Katharina. She combines all the attributes you need as a real service professional. Friendly, quick, competent and cordial.

Real professionals take care of your culinary well-being. Our chef Herta and young chef Julia are constantly striving to conjure up creative, seasonal dishes for you with products from the region. They are supported by Nicole and Aida, who lend a helping hand. All our dishes are honestly cooked and homemade. By the way, Herta's and Julia's homemade pastries are a real treat.
