Description:
From the starting place in Mauthausen we hike upstream and take a turn towards Marktplatz square. We take a left turn and climb up to the parish church. We pass the church and keep to the left (Kirchenberg, then “Am Brunnenberg“ and Brunngraben). There we meet Donausteig Trail and follow it against the direction given by the signposts. We leave Donausteig Trail in a forest section and follow the road back to Mauthausen. We pass a cemetery and get to a first settlement before we hike down to Mauthausen. We keep to the left at the parish church and walk down Kirchenberg hill. We keep the direction and take a right turn at Heinrichskirchenweg to get back to our starting point.

Directions:
