Those who settle down at the Speck-Alm to enjoy their snack can be sure to be served a special craft of exquisite quality - hearty bacon from the Freinland sow. The Gaßners even have official proof that this bacon is among the best: since 2005, their specialities have received regular and multiple awards. With a whole series
Culinarix" awards in gold, silver and bronze as well as the "Speckkaiser" at the Ab-Hof fair in Wieselburg. Anyone who sees how the happy pigs romp and wallow in the open air on their pasture realises that an excellent cultural asset of the region is growing up here. However, the snack does not only consist of bacon. The Gaßner family also knows what they owe their guests when it comes to bread. There is a traditional wood-fired bakery on the farm. Here the loaves of bread bake until they emerge into the light of day just as crispy as they are spicy and fragrant. This homemade farmhouse bread is the ideal accompaniment to the hearty bacon delicacies. Mahlzeit und wohl bekomm's!
