Cultural Treasures in the Danube Region

The Danube has always been an important transport and trade route. People settled here very early on and they knew how to use the river as a natural protection against enemies. These traces of earlier settlements are partly still preserved and characterise this region, which is aware of its eventful past but can also look forward to a contemporary and innovative future.
