Tourism and culture in impressive natural surroundings

The second landing stage in Engelhartszell is only around 200 meters downstream from the first. From here, Engelszell Abbey with its magnificent rococo church as well as the famous abbey liqueurs and abbey beer are just a few minutes' walk away.

The Schütz Art Museum presents works of art from the 19th century to the contemporary avant-garde, including Art Nouveau, Classical Modernism and Expressionism, in an extraordinary architectural setting.

Numerous great excursion destinations in the surrounding area, such as the famous treetop walk in Kopfing or the IKUNA nature resort in Natternbach, offer visitors a variety of opportunities to discover the beauty of the landscape and the special features of the Danube Valley.

Just a few kilometers away is the late antique castle of Oberranna, also known as "STANACUM". An approximately 1700-year-old Roman fort, it is considered one of the best-preserved ancient buildings in Upper Austria. The Danube Limes, part of the former Roman border system and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2021 with all its excavation sites, ran along the Danube from Regensburg to the Black Sea and was an important borderline of the Roman Empire.
