Description:
Former Federal President Dr. Rudolf Kirchschläger was born and baptised in Niederkappel. This attractive but also challenging circular hiking trail leads through the beautiful scenery of Mühl and Danube Valley from the birthplace of Kirchschläger at Kleine Mühl tributary near the village of Obermühl, of which the " Dr. Kirchschläger memorial stone" now reminds us, to the baptistery - the "Mühlviertler Dom" church in Niederkappel. Along the theme trail you`ll find stations with images and quotes from the life of the popular Federal President, providing insights into his work as a great human and politician. Various themes such as politics, humanity or humour are picked up on here. In honour of Dr. Kirchschläger, a unique viewpoint - the "President`s chair" - was built, offering lofty views.
