Schaunberg Castle Ruins:
Schaunberg Castle used to be Austria’s biggest fortress (17,500m²). 186 steps lead to an observation platform from which one enjoys a fantastic view of the Eferding Basin, the Mühlviertel district and of course the Danube.

Coming from Passau/Germany: “Passau Mitte” autobahn exit – on the B130 towards Engelhartszell to Hartkirchen;
