SPIRITUAL HIKING ON THE DONAUSTEIG:
In Ottensheim, the parish church is under the protection of St. Ägidius. He is one of the fourteen helper saints and the only one who did not die a martyr’s death. Especially in the Middle Ages his intercession and aid was very popular. He was born around 650 AD in Athens and is considered the founder of the Benedictine monastery in Saint Gilles (F) – which is still an important intermediate destination for pilgrims on the Way of St. James.
Ägidius repeatedly spent long periods of his life as a hermit in retreat and drew strength from the silence.
Deceleration is a contemporary word expressing the longing for calm.
Stopping – finding oneself when one is out of oneself.

In the Post kitchen, people still cut, swirl, chop and stir - the craft of cooking is alive and well!
Cosmopolitan and yet rooted in tradition, the Post team spoils old and young, regulars and culinary experts, intellectuals and craftsmen in the cosy restaurant and at the convivial Sunnplatz'l!
