Ancient grains from organic farming A small grain combines the power of the sun and the earth. Ignaz and Petra Steinbock call the discovery they made for their organic farm in St. Agatha "Herzkorn". The Steinbocks' farm actually specialised in organic milk. This was the case until the day the heart grain entered the life of the farming family. It is one of the ancient grains and originally comes from Africa and Asia. Its close relatives include spelt and, last but not least, kamut, which became popular as the "grain of the pharaohs". The Steinbocks became aware of this ancient grain, gave it the brand name "Herzkorn" and are convinced that this ancient grain has a positive effect on the human body. It gets its characteristic colour from the anthocyanins it contains. They are actually intended to protect the plant from the strong UV light of the sun. However, they have the pleasant side effect that they hunt for reactive oxygen and nitrogen in the human body. reactive oxygen and nitrogen molecules and thus prevent damage to genetic material and proteins. In fact, the Steinbock family has rediscovered a healthy power plant in the form of a small grain as the basis for numerous foods.
