Sumerauerhof St. Florian

The Sumerauerhof, operated and managed by OÖ Landes-Kultur GmbH, is an outstanding example of the successful combination of tradition and modernity in the preservation of agricultural heritage. The decision to renovate the farm and implement a new operating concept has proven to be very successful.

A central aspect of the redesign was the creation of contemporary exhibition rooms for special exhibitions of Upper Austrian folk culture on the upper floor. These rooms, which have been reconstructed according to the historical plans, offer an ideal place to present the rich folk culture of the region.

Another important step was the conversion of the former warden's apartment into a nature experience area, especially for children and families. This area has proved to be particularly popular and helps to inspire the younger generation for country life and nature.

The Sumerauerhof offers a sustainable and holistic experience for all age groups: farm animal breeds threatened with extinction, extensive orchards with old local fruit varieties, a spacious farm garden as well as a nature playground and an inviting guest garden.

This year's special exhibitions are all about WEDDINGS. From old customs, historic furniture and traditions handed down through the ages to the often sung about wedding of birds in the animal world.

Visitors are welcome to take a guided tour of the orchard meadow, Zackel sheep, old Styrians and Steinpiperl.
