The cozy and beautiful guest garden is located directly on the right bank of the Danube opposite the village of Obermühl. You will find the house exactly at river kilometer 2177.4 km. The cycle path from Passau to Vienna leads right past.

The village of Inzell is 5 km up the Danube and the Schlögener Schlinge is 8 km up the Danube. The village of Kobling is located in the municipality of Haibach ob der Donau. The village of Haibach is located in the upper part of the Danube valley after an ascent of around 4 km.

This historic country inn, which was first mentioned in a document in 1635 as the "Wirt an der Brücke", has been in family ownership for more than 100 years.

Trockene Wiesen und ungeliebte Einwanderer…  
Im Eferdinger Becken ist die intensive landwirtschaftliche Nutzung dominant, die sich auf die Austufe und die Niederterrassen erstreckt. Dennoch haben sich einige wertvolle Strukturen und Lebensräumen erhalten können. Die Begleitdämme der Donau, die bei Radfahrern beliebt sind, stellen auf ihren südexponierten Flanken wichtige Biotope für trockene Wiesen dar (Salbei-Glatthaferwiesen). Auch entlang von Straßen an den Böschungen tritt dieser Wiesentyp auf. Ohne Pflege des Menschen, die einen intensiven Aufwand bedeutet (Mahd) würden diese Wiesen verschwinden. Eine andere Gefahr besteht vielfach durch so genannte Neophyten (vom Menschen eingeschleppte Pflanzen) wie die Kanadische Goldrute, die als Zierpflanze angebaut wurde. Häufig verwildert sie und breitet sich auf Trockenwiesen aus.

In der Nähe von Pupping hatte einst der Raubritter Mangold seine Burg. Mangold war "Ein echter Tunichtgut", mit dem es ein tragisches Ende nahm!

The history of the Roman Empire at the Danube Limes UNESCO World Heritage Site is exciting. And it becomes even more exciting when it is brought to life with augmented reality. Between Passau and Schlögen, new life is now being breathed into it with modern technology. The fort
With an internal area of just 0.8 ha, the camp is described as a small fort and was probably designed for a garrison of 100 to 150 men. A 1.65 m thick defensive wall with a wooden walkway surrounded the rectangular complex. Analysis of the finds showed that the fort was built around 170 AD and the area was used until well into the 5th century.
The civilian settlement
The small civilian settlement(vicus), which was located in the area of today's campsite, was built around 150 AD. The Roman vicus of Schlögen probably served as a road station as well as a landing and reloading point for ships. The bathing building occupied a central position in the settlement and was located directly next to the road.

The rest areas consist of an exposed concrete column, reminiscent of a Roman milestone, bearing a Roman head created by artist Miguel Horn and containing information about the local community, the Danube cycle path and the Romans, as well as a 5 metre long rest bench made of concrete and stone and a paved floor made of Danube pebbles. The architecture is based on design elements from Roman times.

The design for the Roman rest areas was the result of a competition organised jointly with the University of Art and Design Linz and won by student Lukas Beltrame. An important partner in the construction of the squares is the construction academy in Steyregg, which produced all the built-in parts for the squares with its apprentices.

A tour of the Schopper Museum not only provides interesting information about the social and economic circumstances of the Schoppers using original objects, display boards and interviews with contemporary witnesses, but also provides information about the wooden ships once produced in Aschach using models. The shipbuilder derives the name "Schopper" from the activity of "Schoppen", as the sealing of the joints in the production of ships, rafts or barges is called.
Progress and change in the fishing industry are also vividly presented through impressive exhibits. In addition to numerous specimens of fish species found in the Danube catchment area, various water-dwelling animals are also on display. It is one of the main tasks of the OÖ. Landesfischereiverband is to preserve and pass on the cultural heritage of fishing that has been passed down from generation to generation.
