This hike leads through the beautiful Rodltal along the Große Rodl over the impressive Jahresstiege up to scenic heights around Gramastetten. Then you hike back through the romantic Bleicherbachtal towards Ottensheim.
Enjoyable short and longer hike on good paths and forest roads. Along the Rodl, it goes to the Klammleitenmühle, then to the Rodlbad and over the Jahresstiege up to Gramastetten. From there, first on path no. 190, then following the signs for paths 15 and 16 down into the Bleicherbachtal. In the valley along the Bleicherbach, finally on the adventure trail to Ottensheim at the endpoint of the hike. Both start and end points of the hike are easily accessible by public transport.
Directions:The starting point is Rottenegg station. From there, follow Eschlbergstraße. Before the bridge over the Rodl in Rottenegg, turn right and enter the Rodltal. The wide path leads past houses accompanied by the rushing stream going upstream. The path develops into a trail that runs directly along the riverbank. Continue on a forest road to the former Klammleitenmühle and onto Lichtenhager Straße. There, cross the bridge and follow the forest road to the Rodlbad. Over a footbridge, switch to the other riverbank and leave path no. 60. Then you arrive at the nature trail to the start of the Jahresstiege, which leads up to Gramastetten via granite steps. At the end of the Jahresstiege, a viewing platform awaits with a view of Lichtenhag castle. Across a meadow, you reach the Marktstraße in Gramastetten near the church.
Leaving the village, follow trail no. 190. After a short forest section you reach Langwies and turn right to the natural monument Oberhamberger Linde. The descent leads through the Hamberger settlement on forest paths into the Bleicherbachtal. Over a little bridge it goes to the left side; soon you branch right onto a forest road and reach another wooden bridge to change riverbank again. Past a pond, you continue on the adventure trail, which tells about the use of water power. At the roadside, it leads out to the first settlements, and soon you reach the endpoint of the hike, Ottensheim station.
