City Tower

Enns, Oberösterreich, Österreich
  • All weather
  • Suitable for groups

In the centre of the self-contained main square, the city's landmark rises into the sky, visible from afar. The almost 60 metre high, free-standing city tower was built between 1564 and 1568 under Emperor Maximilian II as a bell, watch and clock tower.
It combines Gothic and Renaissance styles in its four-storey ashlar construction and is particularly impressive thanks to its imposing architecture.

It's worth the climb! Climb 157 steps to reach the gallery, which offers a unique view as far as the foothills of the Alps.

Tip: Spend the night in the city tower - www.turmhotel.at

When you go up you will see the new Pixel Hotelroom, the clockwork from the year 1564 and the 6 bells. On top will have a great view!
