Enjoy the wild and romantic nature and landscape of the Lower Inn Valley between the enchanting Baroque town of Schärding and the charming city of Passau, where three rivers meet. On this stretch of the river, steeped in ancient myths and legends, get a sense of both the history and the dangers of the former rafting and salt shipping on the Inn, a tradition that can be traced back over five thousand years.

Even today, the sturdy iron stakes of the Inn riverbanks in the town of Schärding serve as a reminder of the cargo ships and rafts that once moored here. This eventful Inn river cruise begins at this picturesque and historic spot in the fascinating Baroque town of Schärding on the Inn. It will remain just as unforgettable to you as the famous Silberzeile and the town’s many other sights.

During the cruise, we’ll treat you to hearty local dishes from our onboard kitchen, along with coffee served with delicious desserts and chilled beverages. The ambiance of our ships turns every excursion into an extraordinary experience that will leave you with lasting memories.

Routes B and C require a minimum of 10 adults—all passengers must board in Schärding!
Route D only for groups of 20 or more adults – all passengers must board from Schärding! (Due to the tight fuel situation)
As an individual guest, you can register with Innschifffahrt by phone or email. Upon registration, you will receive information about the current number of participants. Should the cruise be canceled due to insufficient registrations, we will of course notify you in a timely manner.

EUROPE'S 1ST BREWERY SHIP

One ship, one beer, one gunner

With fourteen breweries, Schärding was once a stronghold of the art of brewing in the Innviertel for a long time. The pretty baroque town also had the thirsty Inn boatmen to thank for this. A resourceful captain and passionate beer lover is continuing this tradition and bringing beer brewing directly to the Inn. Europe's first brewery ship has been underway since the beginning of 2016.

Captain Manfred Schaurecker found a handful of allies - all beer enthusiasts - and together with them began to painstakingly learn what other Innviertler had long since taught him: the art of brewing. So it's a good thing that he uses his ships to connect what the Inn seems to separate: the Innviertel and Bavaria.

The effort has paid off and steam is soon rising from the chimney of the Salzfürstenschiff. Not only from the engine room, but also from the copper boiler of the new Innviertel microbrewery. It had to be copper, because the captain doesn't like modern stainless steel systems in his house or on his ship. He is a traditionalist.

The museum-like character does not end with the brewing technology. Helga Stiegler, the good soul of the floating pub, is a beer lover herself and has created a cozy interior. She is the one who likes to experiment and ensures that no two brews are the same. Her name alone stands for the history of cozy beer bliss in Schärding. Ever since the French bombarded the town with cannons from the Bavarian side of the Inn in 1809, the inn, which its ancestors ran in Wieningerstraße until 1942, was known as "Zur Kanone". It is almost logical that the floating brewery is called "Kanonenbräu".

The ship's brewery could produce 300 bottles of beer every day. Nevertheless, the beer will remain a rarity, as Captain Schaureckers' ship will continue to ferry its guests back and forth along the Inn between Schärding and Passau. Anyone who wants to can now brew their own authentic beer during the round trip under expert guidance and taste the "powder keg beer" right away. In addition to the matching dishes, the galley menu also offers fifteen other beer specialties from the Innviertel beer region.
