International Brucknerfest Linz 2025 The musical possibilities of artificial intelligence will be explored at the spectacular opening of the Ars Electronica Festival.

The spectacular opening of Ars Electronica will once again be celebrated in the Mariendom in 2025. The highlight will be the presentation of an artistic research project by the Ars Electronica Futurelab to mark the Johann Strauss Year 2025.

In collaboration with the AI composition system Ricercar, which has been specially trained with works by Johann Strauss (son), young composers from the music universities in Zurich, Munich, Salzburg and Vienna have explored Strauss - his music and his person - using the new possibilities of AI and created a Waltzersymphonie , which will be performed by the Bruckner Orchestra Linz.

This exploration is dedicated to the question of how AI can be used as a tool for the development of individual and personal artistic concepts. The premiere of the complete Walzersymphonie will take place in Vienna. The first excerpts will be performed at the opening of Ars Electronica.
