We welcome you to the romantic house “Romantikhaus Hufschmiede”.

In our more than 400 year old house you will find pure romance. Our comfortable rooms offer shower/WC and some have a balcony. For breakfast we serve homemade products such as jam, smoked ham and orange juice. A selection of bread and pastries as well as sausage and cheese is a matter of course. The visit to our blacksmith museum is of course included in the price for our guests. As our house is designed as a place of peace and relaxation, we have deliberately decided to do without modern frills such as televisions and the like. Instead, enjoy the tranquillity and deceleration of a picturesque Danube village, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life in the big city. Our cosy lounge with tiled stove as well as our winter garden (Schifferstube) offer the possibility to sit together in the evening with a glass of wine. 
 
The Romantikhaus Hufschmiede is conveniently located on the Danube, the Danube cycle path and the Donausteig hiking trail run directly in front of our house. The boat landing stage is directly below our accommodation. The centre of Engelhartszell is only a 2-minute walk away, here you will find a grocery shop, a post office/tobacconist and tourist information. The impressive Engelszell Abbey is only a 5-minute walk away. Tennis courts, a public outdoor swimming pool and a bicycle ferry are in the immediate vicinity. Passau is only 25 km away and can be reached by boat, among other things. There are daily buses to the baroque town of Schärding, which is only 32 km away. The treetop path (Kopfing) is also only a few kilometres away.
