Winter fun in St. Martin i. M. - the granite village on the Danube
The character of the Mühlviertel is more evident in winter than at any other time of year. The snow that covers the granite landscape emphasises the rugged charm of the landscape. At the same time, it muffles all sounds, focussing the senses on tranquillity and slowing down. Mühlviertler Granitland is a region that sets locals and visitors alike in motion. Cross-country ski trails run between the hills and above and snowshoe hikers make their tracks in unrivalled style.
