With its Renaissance and Baroque facades, tower and fortified walls, this lovely medieval town is located on the banks of the Danube. Enns offers a special look back in time where history has left its mark for visitors to explore and enjoy.
Cultural Events: Theater Performances, Exhibitions, Readings, and Concerts at atmospheric venues, such as "d´Zuckerfabrik" Cultural Center, recently refurbished Ennsegg Castle, Enns Municipal Hall and Churches around town.
Enns has at its heart various Hotels, Inns, Cafés & Bars where a choice range of refreshments and freshly cooked food is on offer.
Special Sights & Attractions:
Medieval Old Town - Guided Tours are offered daily May 01 to September 15 at 10:30am.
St. Laurence Basilica: Guided Tours are held daily at 4:00pm. The place provides insights into the lives of Roman Martyr Florian and Saint Severin, and displays important Roman excavations.
Lauriacum Museum: Awarded the "Austrian Museum Prize", it features an interesting prehistoric collection, displays the history of town and sacred art items.
The Danube Ferry linking Enns to Mauthausen operates 09:00am to 7:00pm (May to August) and 09:00am to 6:00pm (September).
