Welcome to the parish church of St. Nikola an der Donau.
The Roman Catholic parish church of St. Nikola is picturesquely perched on a cliff directly on the Danube and is dedicated to St. Nicholas of Myra, the patron saint of sailors. The church likely traces its origins to an early missionary chapel. The present building features Romanesque and early Gothic elements and is partly dated to the 12th and 13th centuries. Until the establishment of the Diocese of Linz in 1784, the church belonged to the Diocese of Passau. The church, which is a designated historic monument, is an important historical building in the region.
