Vanishings

Two composers who enter into a dialog across several generations, inspired by a unifying musical understanding, an extraordinary musical language and an uncompromising willingness to explore human abysses down to the depths of the soul: In Vanishings, the interweaving of works by Leoš Janáček and the British composer Thomas Adès, who is one of the most versatile composers of our time, creates an evening of music theater that brings the intensity of great emotion to life in an intimate setting.

Where is the boundary between love, dissolution and devotion? What happens when love unhinges the world? What remains after this fervor? This intense musical theater interweaves not only styles, stories and soundscapes, but also facets of love and renunciation.
