To mark the 300th anniversary of Johann Sebastian Bach's St. Matthew Passion, Concentus Musicus Wien is bringing the baroque masterpiece to the stage with an outstanding cast.
On Good Friday, April 11, 1727, the world premiere of Johann Sebastian Bach's St. Matthew Passion took place in Leipzig's St. Thomas Church. 300 years later, Stefan Gottfried and the Concentus Musicus Wien are commemorating this historic moment. Alongside the Singverein der Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde in Vienna, a soloist ensemble will take to the stage that leaves nothing to be desired: Florian Boesch, Sabine Devieilhe and Gerald Finley are joined by the lyric tenor Werner Güra as the Evangelist, while Kai Kluge and Anja Mittermüller, two highly exciting young talents, take on the tenor and alto roles.Untere Donaulände 7, 4010 Linz
