GRAVALLO stands for the finest gravel riding in the Mühlviertel - without the stress of racing, but with plenty of flow! On Saturday, June 13, 2026, NORD GRAVEL invites you to ride together. No race, no timekeeping - just you, your bike and lots of good vibes. Three routes await you, stretching across the beautiful Mühlviertel region all the way to the Bohemian Highlands in the Czech Republic - a mix of gravel, forest, meadows, dirt tracks and longer asphalt passages. Whether you roll comfortably or push yourself to the limit - everything is possible, nothing is a must. The main thing: fun riding, cool people & great scenery! A gravel bike is recommended (MTB is also possible, but gravel is more fun)
Registration for this year's GRAVALLO is closed! All starting places have been allocated and there are currently no more free places available.
Once again this year, the race will start at the Tabakfabrik Linz (entrance U2) - all routes start and finish here. The after-ride event will then take place in front of Haus CASABLANCA and Urban Canyon!
The B7 team will be at the start from Thursday morning until Saturday lunchtime, offering you service, support and a good atmosphere - right on site.
Whether you prefer a relaxed ride or want to really push yourself - at GRAVALLO you can choose from three routes of different lengths. You decide what suits you best. And the best thing is: you can change your route choice later. Quite simply, depending on your mood on the day.
All three routes will be published on Komoot in the week before the event. There you will find all the information you need - including elevation gain, route length and elevation profile. Just have a look under"Routes".
What can you expect? Pure Mühlviertel style: hilly terrain, varied trails and plenty of nature. There are gravel, forest and field paths as well as longer sections on asphalt to pick up the pace in between or simply to take it easy. No matter which route you choose - GRAVALLO is not about winning, but about the experience.
Those who have opted for the 110 km route will start at 08:30 on Saturday, while the 70 km route starts a little later, at 10:30.
A special highlight is the new 300 km SUPERCORE, which is a multi-day tour along the entire length of the Schwarzenberg Alluvial Canal and the former Linz-Budweis horse-drawn railway line through the Czech Bohemian Highlands to Krumlov. A unique combination of nature, history and gravel fun, flexible and without a common start.
You start directly at the Tabakfabrik Linz site. From there, the route takes you over the new railroad bridge, across the Danube to the Pfenningberg. Out of the city - into gravel fun. What follows is a varied mix of asphalt, forest and gravel paths, which leads you along the former horse-drawn railroad line at Neumarkt im Mühlkreis through the typical hills of the Mühlviertel.
The first checkpoint awaits in Niederaich near Hagenberg, the perfect spot for a short breather.
In the second section, the route runs along the former horse-drawn railroad line towards Linz, where you will also find the second checkpoint at Gran Tourismo Bike in Gallneukirchen, where you will meet the riders of the 100 route.
And then the highlight: the third checkpoint is at Mural Harbor - 28 meters high, in a really special place with a view and urban art vibes. The fourth and final checkpoint awaits you again at Tabakfabrik - destination reached, ride completed.
The start is on the grounds of Tabakfabrik Linz. The first few kilometers to warm up are on the Danube cycle path EuroVelo 6 towards Puchenau and on to the first checkpoint in Neußerling. The route continues on a mix of asphalt, forest and field paths, always uphill and downhill through the hilly landscape of the Mühlviertel and through the enchanting Rasnitz valley towards Lobenstein Castle ruins where the second checkpoint is located.
The route then continues through Zwettl an der Rodl and Freistadt before reaching the old route of the Linz-Budweis horse-drawn railroad near Neumarkt im Mühlkreis. The third checkpoint is in Gallneukirchen at Gran Tourismo Bike. And then it's back to where it all began: The fourth and final checkpoint awaits you when you arrive at Tabakfabrik.
You start directly at the Tabakfabrik Linz site. From there, the route takes you over the new railroad bridge, across the Danube towards St. Magdalena. Out of the city - into nature. What follows is a varied mixture of asphalt, forest and field paths, which takes you along the entire horse-drawn railroad line through the typical hills of the Mühlviertel. You reach the first checkpoint at Gran Tourismo Bike in Gallneukirchen. From Rainbach im Mühlkreis it becomes international: you cross the border into the Czech Republic and ride along the Vltava to the second checkpoint in Krumau (100km) - old town flair and river views included.
Then comes the centerpiece for real gravel fans: continue towards the Vltava reservoir, where the gravel paradise begins - along the entire Schwarzenberg alluvial canal (180km). Pure nature, lots of gravel, lots of flow!
We continue along the Iron Curtain Trail to the "green" border crossing at Rading, then towards Haslach, along the Steinerne Mühl and on to the third checkpoint in Neußerling. The last few kilometers are a relaxed ride along the Danube cycle path (EuroVelo 6) towards Linz. And when you arrive back at the tobacco factory, the last checkpoint is waiting for you - and perhaps the first cool drinks.
As soon as you arrive at the event site, quickly get the last stamp for your raffle ticket - then you'll be ready for the big prize draw later! Afterwards it's time to chill, snack and wash your bike.
There are plenty of places to sit and relax, and your bike will get a refresh at the Bikegroovy wash station. Our gravel grill & vegan crew will be ready and waiting - whether hearty or plant-based, we've got something for everyone. Plus a cool recovery drink to suit your taste.
At the EXPO, you can browse through new projects and the latest bike tools or simply talk shop with others. Finally, it gets exciting again: really cool prizes await you at the raffle - so: fill up your card and keep your fingers crossed!
We're not just about cycling, but about the whole vibe. And of course that includes really good food after the ride.
Everyone who takes part will get a meal & a drink at the finish, all inclusive, because you've earned it. And if you're hungrier than you thought, the recovery buffet offers even more snacks and drinks at fair prices and for as long as there's anything left.
We have set up a few checkpoints along the routes to ensure that everything goes as planned. Whether you collect the stamps for your map, as a reminder of the GRAVALLO or to take part in the raffle is entirely up to you. If you don't want to do all that, just keep on riding.
But important: you need all the stamps for the raffle. So, if you're after cool prizes, head for the checkpoints! No stress, just your style.
GRAVALLO is a self-supported bike event. Each participant is responsible for their own food and drink along the route. Roads are not closed to traffic on the entire route, all participants must adhere to the road traffic regulations without exception. All participating cyclists must equip themselves properly and on their own responsibility. Sufficiently powerful lights, helmet, GPS device/mobile phone, suitable clothing depending on the weather, swimming trunks, sufficient liquid and food for the start, first aid kit, passport, tools and spare materials for breakdowns, etc. Helmets are compulsory during the ride.
