The play "Gender" tells the story of two teenagers, Meel and Josh, who deal with the topics of gender roles, identity and friendship in an intense, honest dialog. Against the backdrop of an upcoming school party, they come under increasing pressure to meet the expectations of those around them. In their conversations, they question the relevance of social norms, talk about their own experiences and doubts and begin to find their own personal answers to the question of what it means to be "oneself".

"Gender" is a sensitive but powerful play about breaking down clichés, the courage to find oneself and the search for a place in a world that often thinks in terms of "male" or "female", although there is so much more in between and beyond.
