Brucknerfest Linz 2026. In the waterfall. Georg Friedrich Haas' Iguazú superior brings the sound of South American waterfalls with rhythmic endless spirals into the unique setting of the trendy sports hall of the Lissfeld sports park.
Inspired by the impressive soundscape of the gigantic water masses of the Argentinian-Brazilian river Iguazú before they plunge down the waterfall known as Garganta del Diablo (Devil's Throat), Georg Friedrich Haas wrote his work of the same name for up to ten sound works. "As spectacular as the Iguazú waterfalls are [...] - the most impressive thing was a hike above the falls, which could only be heard but not seen," says the composer. "For hours, the path led flat over small bridges and islands, the water below passed by with visible acceleration, disappearing from view, and we knew that in a few minutes it would plummet hundreds of meters in free fall." Christoph Sietzen - winner of the ARD music competition and professor of percussion at the Anton Bruckner Private University - brings this rhythmic endless spiral to life together with the Motus Percussion ensemble in the trendy sports hall at Lissfeld Sports Park, surrounded by skate ramps and rails in a unique location.Untere Donaulände 7, 4010 Linz
