Amanda Burzić: I'm not joking, are you?

In this series, the artist examines advertising and fashion.

In her reworked magazines - removed pages, overpaintings, notes, collages - she dissects visual language.

At the same time, she paints clothes and shifts the focus from the magazine to the body, from the object to the space. The exhibition I'm not joking, are you? questions representation, appropriation and visibility: which messages do bodies carry, which remain private? Friends are juxtaposed with brand campaigns. The result is a dialog between personal closeness and media distance, between gestures and staging.
