The Australian and New Yorker by choice Nick Murphy likes to experiment with genre mixes and artist names, dancing as a songwriter through future beat, hip-hop, funk, electro and modern soul, always smoothly and with an excellent grip.

In 2011, he landed his big coup with the cover of the Backstreet Boys' hit "No Diggity", in 2012 he focused on his cool, unagitated electro sound for the first time on the EP "Thinking in Textures" and in 2014 he released "Built on Glass", his celebrated electro-soul debut album, which established him as a first-class artist and earned him numerous ARIA Awards. In the years since, he has continued to expand his acclaimed musical output, touring worldwide, selling out headline shows and performing on stages such as Coachella, Lollapalooza and many more.

"A Love For Strangers" (release date: 2/13/2016), his first album as Chet Faker in four years, expands the established sound in exciting new directions: With moonlit saxophones reminiscent of legendary acts like Prefab Sprout and The Blue Nile, as well as the lush, breakbeat-heavy pop of David Gray's classic "White Ladder".

Across twelve fresh songs, Murphy muses on heartbreak and insecurity on a grand scale - asking questions about how we relate to one another, examining how we fail in the process, and providing a necessary sense of hope when it comes to repairing our relationships with the world around us.
