Helmbrecht at Sprinzenstein Castle

Open air music theater at Sprinzenstein Castle in the Mühlviertel!

In summer 2026, the NordwaldKammerspiele association will stage the medieval verse novella "Meier Helmbrecht" by Wernher the Gardener as a musical stage work at Sprinzenstein Castle in Sarleinsbach.
To mark the commemorative year "400 Years of Peasants' War", the medieval verse novella "Helmbrecht" by Wernher dem Gartenaere will be brought to the stage in a completely new form in summer 2026.
The author Johannes Huber worked on the text and content for the new play for over two years. The music was composed by Claudia Federspieler in the year 2025.
Under the professional guidance of director Konstantin Sales Huber and the musical direction of Thomas Eckerstorfer, over 200 committed participants from the region bring the gripping story of the farmer's son Helmbrecht to life - with the NordwaldKammerorchester & Chor and an ensemble of professional singers and amateur actors.
