5th Brucknerfrühling: Schola Floriana

Schola Floriana, the choral schola of the St. Florian Abbey Basilica under the direction of Matthias Giesen, performs works by G.P. Palestrina, Fr. Schubert, F. Mendelssohn-Bartholdy and A. Bruckner.

The Schola Floriana, founded in 1999, is dedicated to Gregorian chant and a combination of choral singing and organ music. Ten men under the direction of Matthias Giesen regularly perform at the monastery liturgy and in monasteries and churches. International tours have already taken them to Israel, Poland, Finland and other countries. In addition to choral singing, the Schola also interprets polyphonic male choir works. Three CDs document their work.
