Brigitte Schwaiger shot to fame in 1977 with her novel Wie kommt das Salz ins Meer and became a celebrated star of the Austrian literary scene.
Although she published numerous other books up until 2010, including novels, plays and poems, she was unable to repeat the success of her debut.
The exhibition focuses on the genesis of this bestseller, which was translated into several languages, as well as the author's staging in the media, her strategies of denial and her dealings with the public.
