Wanderer between the worlds

Since winning first prize at the Bundeswettbewerb Gesang Berlin and second prize at Plácido Domingo's Operalia competition in 2022, countertenor Nils Wanderer has been taking international opera and concert stages by storm.

The singer sees himself as a "wanderer between worlds" who enjoys breaking down genre boundaries. This also applies to his debut at the Brucknerhaus: he wanders from well-known arias by George Frideric Handel and Henry Purcell to the romantic soundscapes of Franz Schubert and Richard Strauss, as well as Kurt Weill, Benjamin Britten and the self-written song St. Petersburg.
