Carlos Motta: Pleas of Resistance

Politics of Visibility. Pleas of Resistance marks the first major European museum exhibition to bring Motta's artistic development fully to life. 

It brings together more than twenty-five years of artistic practice, combining early photographic self-portraits with more recent video performances and installations across four interwoven chapters. These chapters explore pre-Spanish homoeroticism, the politics of care as a space of queer liberation, acts of self-determination beyond the human, and the telling of untold stories as a practice of sharing, mutual support, and resistance.
