Giving space to the image. The Schlossmuseum pays tribute to the late work and unbroken artistic creativity of the Austrian sculptor and installation artist Sepp Auer.
His conceptual and minimalist works are based on the image and unfold sculpturally in space to form multi-layered installations. Equipped with text and writing, supports or barriers, they question viewing habits, break up patterns of perception, comment on the present and, with Auer's characteristic poetic humor, are out of the ordinary.Sepp Auer, born in Braunau am Inn in 1939, lives and works in St. Peter am Hart in Upper Austria. He taught at the University of Applied Arts Vienna from 1975 to 2004. In addition to numerous works in public spaces, his work is represented in international museums and important collections.
