DONAU.Erlebnis Card holders receive a free guided tour of the baroque town of Schärding on Fridays.
Please note: The tour only takes place with a minimum of 5 participants.

Registration for the guided tour must be made by 12:00 noon on the day of the tour (Friday 12:00 noon) at the Schärding tourist office (+43 7712 43000, info@schaerding.info).

Explore Schärding's rich past with a Schärding guide. The medieval fortified town has been shaped by all eras, but the showpiece is the baroque Silberzeile in the town center. Gable to gable, an incomparable ensemble of houses presents itself here: narrow facades, often barely a room wide, squeeze between mighty town houses. Rich merchants once lived here, their pockets full of silver coins, which probably gave the Silberzeile its name. The late medieval guild colors of the houses, the magic of the old gates, the quiet corners and mysterious alleyways still shape the charming character of this small, historic town today.
