In cyanotype, natural or artificial objects are captured on paper or fabric with the help of light and water.
Photographic images are created in characteristic shades of blue - and all without a camera. Also known as "blue printing", the cyanotype is one of the oldest noble printing processes in photography. As part of the photography focus at the Francisco Carolinum, anyone aged 16 and over is invited to experiment with this technique to their heart's content. No prior knowledge is required for the workshop. Materials are available, but can also be brought along and incorporated into your own work. It is recommended to bring sunglasses.
