Travel Information: The L1528 road between Lembach im Mühlkreis and the junction to Obermühl ob der Donau is undergoing major reconstruction. The route is closed to trucks and through traffic. Car access is limited. Only one lane is open in alternating directions (road narrowing). Construction is scheduled until September 25, 2026, Monday to Thursday, 6:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
The holiday home “Waterfront Obermühl” is located directly on the banks of the Danube in the small village of Obermühl, part of Kirchberg ob der Donau in the Upper Mühlviertel region. Here, water, nature, and the peaceful atmosphere of the Danube landscape set the rhythm of the day.
The house consists of two residential units. The holiday apartment “Waterfront Obermühl – Gartenblick” is located on the ground floor and offers simple, uncomplicated accommodation close to the water – ideal for guests seeking a relaxed and nature-oriented getaway.
Enjoy views of the Danube in the morning, take walks along the river, cycle on the famous Danube Cycle Path, or explore the Donausteig hiking trail – in Obermühl, nature begins right outside the front door.
A special highlight for anglers: Fishing on the Danube is possible directly from the property – a rare opportunity that makes a stay by the water even more unique.
The famous Schlögener Schlinge and the Burgstall viewpoint are also only a few kilometres away and invite visitors to discover one of Austria’s most beautiful river landscapes.

Two bedrooms with two beds each and a sofa bed accommodate up to 5 guests, ideal for couples and families. A fully equipped kitchen and living/dining area offer comfort, while the covered terrace invites you to relax surrounded by greenery near the river.

Distance (in km)Obermühl on the Danube is located in the municipality of Kirchberg ob der Donau, 50 km from Passau and 45 km from Linz.
From Passau: Take the A3 (Passau exit) and B388 via Obernzell, Untergriesbach and Lake Ranna, then continue via Oberkappel, Putzleinsdorf and Lembach to Obermühl. Alternatively, follow the B130 via Engelhartszell and Niederranna.
From Linz: Take the A7/B127 towards Rohrbach and turn towards Lembach/Obermühl at Altenfelden.
Driving time: approx. 50–60 minutes.
