R29 Machland Bike Trail

The Machland R29 Bike Trail winds its way through the expansive landscape of the Machland for about 19.4 kilometers. The nearly flat route makes the tour particularly pleasant and is ideal for leisure cyclists, families, and e-bike riders.

The tour starts in Au an der Donau and winds through the diverse cultural landscape of the Machland. It then heads south again toward Mitterkirchen, where a visit to the Keltendorf open-air museum is well worth it. Right next door, there’s also a connection to the Danube Cycle Path. The route continues via Baumgartenberg through the expansive, flat Machland region to the finish in Mettensdorf.

With an elevation gain of only about 30 meters, the R29 is an easy and enjoyable bike ride for anyone who wants to explore the Machland at a leisurely pace.
