Gentle hilly landscape, marvellous forests and a wonderful viewpoint of the village of Niederkappel.

On 17 May 1626, a deadly brawl between the local farmers and the Bavarian occupying soldiers was the cause of the great "Upper Austrian Peasants' War". The somewhat hidden "Habach" inn was the headquarters of the rebellious peasants (no longer an inn!).

On an elevation - the beech tree was felled in 1937 - the peasants lit a bonfire, signalling the start of the battle. A beech tree was planted again on the occasion of the Peasants' War commemorations in 1976.

A memorial plaque at the former Habach inn commemorates the courageous uprising of the peasants.

In the middle of the beautiful Mühlviertel, on the market square of Lembach, you will find our inn. Here we cook exactly the way we like to eat ourselves.

As far as possible, we use food from the controlled organic agriculture of our region. We use fresh ingredients according to the season and consciously choose our suppliers with their special products. It is a gift that we have these products here and we accept it gratefully.

We serve a BIO connoisseur breakfast as well as dishes from Mühlviertler BIO pork and beef, Sunday roasts or game dishes, vegetarian dishes or coffee and cake.

Our hall is available for weddings, birthdays and other occasions.

We have been certified organic since 2011 and are a recognised partner of the Bioregion Mühlviertel.

The stations of the cross link the graveyard with Mühlholz hill. The Bohemain Forest and the foothills of the Alps are visible from the hill on clear days.

Weaver Alois Johanniter of Lembach founded this chapel and the stations of the cross in 1844 out of gratitude for his salvaging from a shipping accident. A votive painting in the chapel´s interior depicts the Bavarian steamship named "Ludwig". A marble tablet on the right wall of the chapel commemorates this accident. Two angel statues flank the Golgotha altar, which is at the heart of the chapel.
