The Anton Bruckner Bike Path, which leads you to the composer's home, promises to be a biking excursion with cultural highlights.
Ansfelden, his place of birth, is located in the heart of the Alpine foothills. This backdrop accompanies you on your way to St Florian. Bruckner was a choirboy here and the monastery's basilica features the monumental Bruckner organ. From here, you can reach the Danube Bike Path near Abwinden/Asten via Enns.
Designation: R14 (Within the network of national bike paths in Upper Austria)
Whether for arriving or departing or even for transfers along the route of the biking tour, trains are an irreplaceable partner when it comes to biking. With the right information for planning purposes, your next biking tour is quickly brought on track.
If you arrive somewhere along the "Westbahn", the Anton Bruckner Loop Tour recommends the Asten-Fisching stop as your starting or finishing point. Enns is a further option for starting your journey, and visiting the oldest city in Austria is definitely worth your while.
The Ansfelden stop in the neighbourhood of Haid or the station in Traun are optimal places to get on the Pyhrnbahn. That means your excursion begins or ends in the composer's home town.
