Tour-Details
Paths covering:
From the romantic Danube Valley to the gently rolling hills of the Innviertel.
You start in Aschach on the Danube near the Danube Bike Path. And you are already biking into the valley of the River Aschach. Waizenkirchen is about half way along the route. You finally see the chequered flag in Zell an der Pram. Here is where the Aschach Bike Path merges with the Pramtal Bike Path on the way to Schärding.
Sections with heavy motorised traffic are designated by signs: through the Aschachtal
Designation: R20 (Within the network of national bike paths in Upper Austria)
Whether for arriving or departing or even for transfers along the route of the biking tour, trains are an irreplaceable partner when it comes to biking. With the right information for planning purposes, your next biking tour is quickly brought on track.
You can arrive for this athletically challenging tour by taking the train to Riedau or to the starting point of the Aschachtal Bike Path in Zell an der Pram. You ride through the slightly hilly landscape through Bruck-Waasen and Weizenkirchen to the beautiful, ruggedly romantic section of the tour - Schurrerprambach - and Aschach on the Danube. After crossing the Danube in Aschach, you ride along the Danube Bike Path before entering the state capital. The not so attractive final stretch along the B 127 can be travelled on the Mühlkreisbahn by taking the train in the station in Dürnberg.
