Miesberg-Römerstraße

Starting point: Haibach; end point: Unterhindling or circular routeMarking: 3Trail length: 10 km; 3 hoursCharacteristics: easy ascent up the Mistberg (deciduous forest) to the magnificent viewpoint of Freinberg - to the three-river view - and back down into the romantic Danube valley.Route: From the former Haibacah border crossing, after crossing the Freinberg road, you branch off into the ascent to the Mistberg. Passing through a wooded area, you reach the hill of Unterfreinberg and enjoy the view of Passau as you head towards Freinberg. After a rest at the "Weinbeißer", you pass the "Troadkasten" and turn off towards Hinding. At the "Blaas" you will be spoilt with a fascinating view of Passau. Afterwards, turn into the Danube valley ahead of you and enjoy a cosy stop at the "Nibelungenstüberl" and "Faberhof" on the Danube cycle path in Hinding. Or you can start on the Danube cycle path at the former Achleiten border crossing (Kräutelsteinweg), hike up the Donauleiten, past picturesque farms up to the hill to the "Blaas" with its gastronomic specialities. You can continue in any direction on hiking trail no. 3.
