Ebelsberg Castle, located in the Ebelsberg district of the Upper Austrian capital of Linz, is a former fortified castle with a fascinating history dating back to the 12th century. First mentioned in 1154, it played an important role in the region for many centuries and was the scene of numerous historical events.
After a fire following the battle, the castle lay in ruins for a while and was put up for sale. It was not until 1825 that it found a new owner, Baron Karl Theodor von Kast.
Today, the castle is used for various purposes, including cultural events such as Christmas markets, concerts and other entertainment. The complex comprises a trapezoidal building with two storeys, three towers and two gates surrounding an inner courtyard.
