A short hike up the Breitenstein is an excursion into a natural idyll worth seeing.
At the highest point - 956 meters above sea level - hikers reach the summit cross and the observation tower, the Dr.-Walter-Amon-Warte.It was built in 1980 as the first modern radio station of OÖ. Ferngas on the Breitenstein and measures 22 meters. The accessible platform offers a magnificent panoramic view from the dark fringes of the Bohemian Forest to the silver peaks of the Alps.
The viewing platform is open from sunrise to sunset in good weather.
