Christmas Market in the Linzer Volksgarten

With its special atmosphere in the park, the Linz Christmas market in the Volksgarten, right next to the main railway station, offers experiences for young and old alike.

The daily craft demonstrations in particular delight children and adults alike: old crafts are brought back to life here, but modern techniques are also demonstrated. Some craftsmen also invite visitors to join in, as does the neighbouring wood experience area. Quizzes test your knowledge, the wooden xylophone elicits the most diverse sounds from the different species and you can make your own workpiece with the old crank drill.

Right next to the crafts area is the nativity scene. What is probably Austria's largest wooden nativity scene comes to life every 30 minutes.

When everyone has had enough of watching, it's off to the rides, the fairytale games or one of the inviting food stalls.
