This bridge is more than just a Danube crossing for Linz. It has also become a symbol of the joint offensive by the city and province to expand public transport. It makes the S-Bahn and new bus routes possible in the first place and is therefore a sign that Linz is committed to public transport across party lines.
The completion of the new railroad bridge is also expected to ease the situation for motorized private transport. In addition, pedestrians and cyclists will have 4.5 meters of space on both sides. The bridge was opened to traffic on Monday, August 30.
