The regionally organised Alpenverein Urfahr-West (formerly Alpenverein Gramastetten) is an association of and for mountain sports enthusiasts, the majority of whom come from the municipalities of Gramastetten, Lichtenberg, Eidenberg, Herzogsdorf, Feldkirchen an der Donau, Goldwörth, St. Gotthard im Mühlkreis and Walding.
Our most important tasks are
- the promotion and practice of mountain sports (hiking, mountaineering, climbing, ski touring, mountain biking and trendy alpine sports),
- the appropriate training of mountain sports enthusiasts and tour guides and
- the establishment, supervision and maintenance of mountain sports infrastructure (climbing centre, climbing gardens/climbing crags, hiking trails) in the region.
With our programme and our climbing hall in Gramastetten, we offer an extensive and interesting range of activities for children, young people and adults - regardless of ability and age.
