- Wood turning (bowls, tins, mortars, vases and mugs, Easter eggs, spinning tops) - Sandboxes, armchairs and bar tables, rocking chairs, rocking loungers, rocking horses, wine racks, armchairs, wardrobes, vases, bicycles, clocks, ....... Gerhard LUGER talks about the origins and background of the wood workshop:
A long time ago, he found his love for the material "WOOD" as a balance to his work in the chemical industry. As he runs his workshop to balance out his day job, he approaches his projects from a completely different perspective than, for example, a carpenter who has to make a living from his work. The same work, the same project, goes very differently when there is no time pressure for completion. You often want to make something very specific out of a piece of wood. You cut and plane, but it doesn't turn out quite the way you had imagined. He has found that it is better to put a post to one side and wait until you get the right idea for the good piece of wood (and that can take time!). Of course, it is also clear that this strategy is reserved for hobbyists or perhaps artists. This is probably also the reason why he doesn't want to pursue the whole thing on a commercial level. He is convinced that he will continue to enjoy wood as a material for a long time to come and that he will be able to delight his family and friends with one or two workpieces.
