A short dirt track leads to this panoramic station with fabulous views of the Mühlviertel. It takes its name from the direct view of Rannariedl Castle on the wooded steep slope on the opposite bank of the Danube. This mighty complex was built in the 13th century at a strategically favourable altitude to control trade on the Danube. An oversized picture frame at the viewing station shows the right perspective for a photo with the castle backdrop, guaranteeing a panoramic snapshot of a special kind!
