Farm shop: Herbs, fruit, plants, tea, juice, jam, jelly
The Upper Danube Valley between Passau and Aschach is characterised by high, wooded banks and the hinterland is also hilly. No one should therefore be surprised that Thekla Raffezeder's small estate in Haibach ob der Donau is a mountain farm. After all, the organic farm is situated at 413 metres above sea level in the middle of a Natura 2000 protected area and its highest point is crowned by the ruins of Stauff Castle. But that is by no means the end of the special features. Because "Theklasien", as Raffezeder calls her personal paradise, is cultivated according to the principles of permaculture. Habitats designed according to this method interweave plants and animals, people and structures, architecture, customised technologies and the natural environment to create an intelligent and ecologically sustainable system. The aim is for the individual elements to support, promote and complement each other in their development. Since 2003, she has gradually introduced elements of permaculture. And thus created a small oasis of natural agriculture.
